Supreme Court Lawyer R.K. Midha’s Maiden Novelette
India Shows - 3/15/2006
Senior Supreme Court lawyer R.K. Midha’s debut novelette UNTIL THE DAY BREAKS was formally released by well-known Urdu litterateur and novelist Salma Siddiqui at the Tea Centre , Churchgate in Mumbai followed by a brief press meet. Recalling her association with Midha the famed Salma said she considered his kindness and virtues as being more important than the book itself, which he has authored. She showered encomiums for his pioneering effort and creating the principal character of the strong willed, sensuous Kamini in the book, who, despite being comprehensively exploited and violated by a decadent society, is determined to make something out of her life. She triumphs over the travails of her life and emerges victorious in the elections and vows to fight for the fallen women’s causes. Midha, on his part, revealed that it had taken him six long years to pen the novel and he would like to convert it into a movie, if and when he finds a producer who would be willing to invest in films, without making compromises. Others who attended the function included former Advocate General Vijay Thorat, Chief Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian and Himalaya Book Pvt Ltd head honcho Anuj. The evening was moderated by the sensational Preeti Sagar.
